July Newsletter

Dear Friends of the Council,

We hope this update finds you enjoying summer and exploring the world around you. With the 2024-2025 school year behind us, the Council hosted its first-ever Board of Directors Retreat in historic Fort Benton. In addition to bonding and finalizing our strategic plan, the Board visited Montana Department of Agriculture Director Jillien Streit's pulse crop farm and the Stricks AG processing facility in Chester to learn about their international trade of chickpeas. We are fortunate to have a growing and engaged Board that is enthusiastic about offering relevant and accessible programming to Montanans.

We are excited to announce our new board members!

- Steve Birrell, CEO at Quantum Composers, Bozeman
- Kina Kuhn, Director of Community Engagement & Media Relations at Blackfoot Communications, Missoula
- Juline Monasakanian, VP of Finance & Operations at Timberline Tool, Whitefish
- Candace Strauss, Founder, Wonderland Media LLC, Bozeman
- Donnie Wetzel, Jr., Tribal Liaison Director, MT Department of Labor & Industry, Helena

On June 25, the Council hosted "Israel - Iran Conflict with US Intervention Community Discussion" with University of Montana Professor Dr. Mehrdad Kia and our President Emeritus Bob Seidenschwarz. The recording of the conversation is available on our YouTube Channel.

Our Montana Student Delegation to India, composed of the 2024 EconoQuest and the 2025 Academic WorldQuest winning teams, returns home soon and we cannot wait to share their experiences with our supporters. The Indian news outlets have extensively covered their trip as well!

Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Nikki, Rachel, Alli
