Jason Small

Board Member

Jason Small serves as the Executive Secretary of Montana's American Federation of Labor & Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), the state's largest labor union. In this role, Jason recruits and supports political candidates in a non-partisan environment, monitors legislative activity, and advocates for Montana jobs and apprenticeships.

Ending his fourth term in 2025, Jason was a state legislator representing Senate District 21 (Busby, Hardin, Crow Agency, Lame Deer, Ashland). In addition, Jason actively serves on a number of statewide boards, including the Montana State Workforce Innovation Board, the Treasure State Industrial Resources Board, the Energy 406 Board, and the Boilermaker Western States Apprenticeship Trust. 

Jason is a Journeyman Boilermaker, and a proud member of the Local 11 union.
