Janet has had a 30-year career in nonprofit management, specializing in international affairs, youth leadership and wildlife conservation, holding positions of Executive Director and Senior Director of Development & Communications.
Rose’s career began in broadcast journalism in local and network news. As an investigative correspondent, Janet focused on issues ranging from international issues to environmental policy. Her work was nominated for and won several Emmys. Early in her career, Janet was assigned to the United Nations covering the Security Council and General Assembly.
Joining the World Affairs Council Janet says it blends two important areas – youth education and global affairs. “Advancing our understanding and awareness of the international arena enriches our lives, our communities and our understanding of the world around us. The future however, lies in the hands of youth and it is important to help them understand global affairs and the ways in which current issues impact our lives here at home.”
Janet and her husband are the proud parents of two grown daughters, raised in a rural community outside of Missoula but were exposed to different cultures, language and travel throughout their school years. Janet is also the adoptive parent of four horses, two dogs and a barn cat and enjoys nature photography, international travel, and outdoor recreation of every kind.
