On October 24th, 2017, Ambassador Max Baucus participated as the featured guest for the Montana World Affairs Council’s Distinguished Speaker’s Program, speaking on “China, North Korea, and the US: What Happens Next?” Ambassador Baucus spoke to some 300+ members of the Missoula community at the DoubleTree Hilton, speaking about his experiences as Ambassador to China and fielding questions from the audience. Ambassador Baucus spoke on North Korea and its weapons program, trade and relations between China and the United States, and his views on the United States and South Asia as a whole. Earlier in the afternoon, Amb. Baucus participated in a Council in the Classroom program speaking to students from around the state about events in the region.
