Christy Moore has been a musical touchstone in Ireland through the last four decades, an entry point to traditional Irish music for many ,a storyteller who has provided a narrative of the changes on the island, and a master interpreter of great contemporary song writers as diverse as Shane McGowan and Jackson Browne.

A native of Donegal, John is a former bank CEO and now the chair of Ireland’s largest house building company. An independent radio rock DJ in his youth, John co-owns Ireland’s most northerly hotel, McGrory’s in Donegal, ( which as well as being one of Ireland’s top 100 places to stay,  has hosted musical stars such as Townes Van Zandt, Cassandra Wilson and Femi Kuti in a tiny remote village on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.  John is also a director of the National Concert Hall, the cultural institution designated as the home of music in Ireland.
