Christy Moore has been a musical touchstone in Ireland through the last four decades, an entry point to traditional Irish music for many ,a storyteller who has provided a narrative of the changes on the island, and a master interpreter of great contemporary song writers as diverse as Shane McGowan and Jackson Browne.
A native of Donegal, John is a former bank CEO and now the chair of Ireland’s largest house building company. An independent radio rock DJ in his youth, John co-owns Ireland’s most northerly hotel, McGrory’s in Donegal, (www.mcgrorys.ie) which as well as being one of Ireland’s top 100 places to stay, has hosted musical stars such as Townes Van Zandt, Cassandra Wilson and Femi Kuti in a tiny remote village on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. John is also a director of the National Concert Hall, the cultural institution designated as the home of music in Ireland.
