Ms. Shelton will discuss the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on economies around the world and how they – and their citizens – might emerge from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.

Joanna R. Shelton served as Deputy Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris and as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Trade Policy in the George H.W. Bush and Clinton Administrations. She also served on the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ways and Means Committee staff and at the U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office. Long affiliated with the University of Montana, Ms. Shelton teaches, lectures, and writes on economic policy issues, including a monthly column for The Missoulian.
