EU Ambassador to the United States, David O’Sullivan, met with business and economic leaders from Montana on September 28th, 2017 for the Council’s Business Luncheon Series roundtable discussion. The Ambassador met with banking, agricultural, technological, and medical entrepreneurs all around Missoula, and spoke at length regarding trade and commerce, Brexit, and the current political climate of Europe.
In December, the Montana World Affairs Council hosted former ambassador John Limbert, a survivor of the 1979 Iranian Hostage Crisis, to speak about the history of US-Iranian relations, and where we can go from here. Distinguished speaker Dr. Sinan Ciddi, Director of the Institute for Turkish Studies at Georgetown University, will share his expertise on Turkey, ISIS, and the Syrian Civil War with the Missoula community on October 23rd at 7:30 pm at the Double Tree hotel.
