Season’s Greetings

Season’s Greetings from the Montana World Affairs Council! We are wrapping up the last few programs of the year and are looking forward to a little R&R with friends and family. But before go, we’d like to give you a little update on this month’s happenings.

The Council has recently hosted Carolyn Grimaldi (recipient of the Turkish Cultural Foundation’s travel scholarship) and Israeli Consul General Dr. Andy David. Ms. Grimaldi presented a screening of Turkey’s Tigers: Integrating Islam and Corporate Culture at the Missoula Public Library. Aside from treating her guests with a free portion of delicious moussaka, Ms. Grimaldi led an engaging discussion on how religion, government and business interplay in Turkish society. Often points of friction in many societies, Turkey has found a relatively harmonious balance between the aspirations of businessmen, religion and the degree of government regulation for both.
